Why we're planting trees and not doing massive discounts.<\/strong><\/p>

\"\"Of the 1 billion items of clothing made each year, almost 40% of all production is never utilised. It means a dump truck of textiles waste goes straight to landfill, every second - and climate change is because of stuff like this. CO2 pollution occurs as part of the process of making things. Instead of making more things and hoping for change, we are changing the way things are made.<\/p>

Instead of giving away this Black Friday, we're giving back. For us Green Friday means being part of the solution, not part of the problem.<\/p><\/blockquote>

When is this Green Friday offer on?<\/strong><\/p>

The Buy One, Get One Tree program is running from 9am on Friday 27th November to midnight on Sunday 29th November.<\/p>

This is the time of year when people are looking to shop, of course, but knowing what to buy and the effect a purchase has on the planet is more important than ever. If you want to give and receive more meaningful gifts this Christmas, then buying an ethically sourced, organic item from Smug Vegan, that also plants a tree, is a great idea.<\/p>

Who's planting the trees?<\/strong><\/p>

We're partnering with Tree-Nation to get these seeds in the ground. It's likely that the funds will be used as part of reforestation projects in Madagascar. You can find more about their work here<\/a><\/u>.<\/a><\/p>

Why are you only doing it for a weekend?<\/strong><\/p>

This programme is being run by our production partners, so we don't have direct control over it, but they do open it up server also times a year now - not just for Black Friday. We want to offer something more positive than discounting on Black Friday and are very happy to take part in this campaign. <\/p>

People around the world are waking up to the importance of our environment and while this is the peak season for gift-buying, more meaningful gifts matter.
